Twelve Penn State faculty members received Fulbright Scholar Awards for the 2024-25 academic year, according to the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. An additional four faculty members have been named Fulbright Specialist Award recipients.
Andjela Kaur, assistant teaching professor of rehabilitation and human services at Penn State Lehigh Valley, recently completed an Experiential Digital Global Engagement (EDGE) project with students from her employment strategies for people with disabilities course and partners from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. EDGE is a project-based international virtual exchange program adapted from the State University of New York’s Collaborative Online International Learning program.
Penn State students visited Washington, D.C. the weekend of April 1-3 as part of a trip planned by the Global Engagement Team within Penn State Global. The student group was a diverse mixture of students from across the commonwealth, with 30 domestic students and 145 international students representing 31 countries.
Penn State Lehigh Valley Associate Professor of Biology Jacqueline McLaughlin recently received the National Society for Experiential Education 2022 John S. Duley Lifetime Achievement Award in Experiential Education. In addition, in early June she delivered a virtual keynote address to attendees at the FarmConect Romania agriculture conference held in Slobozia, Romania.

Twenty Penn State teams with students from seven different colleges and six campuses, including Penn State World Campus, will each be awarded $500 to compete in the Prototype Phase of the 2021 Nittany AI Challenge. Teams were selected based on their potential for positive impact on the world, all using AI for Good to develop solutions that address real-world challenges in education, environment, health and humanitarianism.
Along with their professors and instructors, 35 Penn State Lehigh Valley students got to see new parts of the world and expand their learning and understanding of course material during a short-term study abroad program over spring break.
