Teens with an eye toward starting and managing their own businesses learned the basics of what it takes to be an entrepreneur at Penn State Lehigh Valley’s annual Teen Entrepreneur Challenge, held July 28 to Aug. 3.
A panel of three seasoned Lehigh Valley entrepreneurs — Jevata Crawford of Project Move; Jonathan Epstein, president, JTJ Tech; and Rita Guthrie, owner, Idea Lady, Open Door Public Relations — shared their expertise about crafting a memorable business pitch with students, faculty and the local business community during the April LaunchBox Ladies Speaker Series event. Each panelist discussed the importance of business pitches for networking and creating connections, selling products, and engaging potential funders.
Nearly 90 attendees at the latest Lehigh Valley LaunchBox Ladies speaker series event were encouraged to utilize design thinking to solve problems using empathy, creativity, and ideation.
A cutting-edge health monitoring device took home the top prize in the fifth annual StartUp Lehigh Valley pitch competition held Oct. 25 at Factory LLC in Bethlehem.
